New Year (2008) Resolutions?

For the end of 2007, what I could say is; a phrase "... never regret anything. Because every little detail of your life is what made you into who you are in the end." – by Drew Barrymore

I don’t really keep or list my resolution in blog but here I am, hopefully (fingers crossed) could achieve (most of) them:

1- Paint my room.
I'm getting bored with the color of my room since I got my own little space in 2004. This is going to be huge in production.

2- Fix my home-PC.
I’ve been discontented with the dysfunctional of USB port, slow computer etc for the past few years!

3- Save some money, be a ‘less spender’, clear off the credits
I need to save some money for some conventional in life eg., property/car/future. I need to avoid spending more by using the credit cards. I had cleared one card but I got another card to clear.

4- Take good care of myself. Fit in life. Lose some weights.
I know for last year I’ve been working non-stop that sometimes (mostly) ignore my health-conscious. I had gained few kilos. I’ve been coughing for the past few weeks. I haven’t had a proper 8-hour sleep. I’d missed my gym routine. I need to keep my pace.

5- Travel with mum to somewhere-alone.
My mum has suggested to go travel just both of us to escape for a moment from the distraction in life to somewhere during Chinese New Year. I just nodded. Any suggestion where to? Does anyone have better offer of travel packages for 2-lady traveler? Drop me in comments/chatterbox.

6- Meet the Mr. Right.
I know this is impossible. Please help me to get into the network of social life. I need to meet MORE people. Heeheee

7- Get whole-body medical check-up.
I have NEVER EVER got a medical check-up. I always tried to get one but partly because of its cost and also no time to fit in. I hope this year I would have one.

8- Learn German language.
Yar… I got something up for a plan (whether the ‘plan’ will work or not, it can be an extra knowledge in foreign language). But this is going to be a cost (relate to No.3)?

9- Do/involve in at least one charity.
"For this year not only do something for you but to others too."-Quote from Perodua's TV advertisement. :)

Later will post some pictures on fireworks and cat and toys.

My Mum's Birthday - 23rd

My mum’s birthday was right before before the Christmas day which was yesterday. Supposing my 2nd-bro thought of bringing her to eat seafood dinner at somewhere in Klang but bad accident happened to his car. His car was badly damaged at the booth. My mum was very disappointed with him as in being so careless and other reasons that only I could know. She has been worried most about her sons. This year wasn’t a good birthday year for her but then as I’m the only her daughter, I got to do something as being part of her. I didn’t buy anything as for a present instead I gave her some money (angpow) for her to buy anything she wants.

I went to work that day but I call my mum whether the dinner is confirmed or not. She said it was cancelled and asked me whether I need to have dinner. I told her I was hungry and she suggested eating at MidValley. So I went straight from the office and waited for her while having my window shopping. We went to The Gardens at Purple Cane Restaurant. I told mum about that place where most of the dishes were cooked with some tea leaves. She was okay with the idea to give it a try. We’d called 3 dishes which were vege, fishes and tauhu. The foods were okay with minimal of saltiness that only my mum liked about was the rice. It costs us RM51++ and I paid for that though my mum said she wanted to treat me dinner on her birthday. (I’m so being a good daughter). Hehehe

We went for jalan-jalan and bought some groceries stuff then went back home. That’s the outing of mum with daughter for a night.

Last Thursday, my colleague was hosting a Christmas party at her home with her mum’s cooking. It was pretty not bad that most my colleagues came. We ate, played charade and cards while enjoying drinking wine/alcohol. It was a nice place to chill out though the place was kind of packed. But really thanks to Losh for having a small Christmas party. Didn't take any pictures. :)

Bad connection

I'm having trouble surfing the net since last weekends til now...

I think this is happened every once a year, yah, I remembered last year it happened the same situation but this time is different.
I'm such a loyal in paying my monthly bill on time and this is what I have to dealing with.

I tried to log into the Modem Access and it stated "DSL LINE IS NOT CONNECTED". It was trying to connect but failed. Sometime I got lucky to surf for less than 5-minute and it gone.

How am I going to do with that?

Should I just call the Streamyx's Customer Interaction Center to ask them to check their server whether the cables were loosened or someone hack my line?

What am I going to do? I'm going be dead if this going on during this weekends

Lone

Today Christmas Eve is kind of lonely. Most of my friends don’t feel the joyful season. Part of it because of their mind filled with unbearable responsibilities or some other things. I felt that way too. It just that this year I wasn’t with friends, same goes with the last year. Last year I’d traveled alone in Singapore. Nothing much but shopped and met some friends. But this year was way too quiet. A typical norm day in a silence way. These few days ago I found some of the Christmas songs were kind of miserable to hear in my ears as they were slow in a mood that melt my heart down to the drain. It was kind of sad to hear.. I think same goes with this coming Chinese new year unless with a plan of traveling or outing with relatives to somewhere, if not I will be reborn bored to death.

Am I being self-centered? I don’t wish to but I’m speechless.

What did I do for Christmas Eve? At home, staring at the square screen while surfing net. I felt the emptiness in me. Hmm…

Exchange

Just among my colleagues, had arranged the Xmas presents exchange and 'Secret Santa'. We decorated the Xmas tree with 'real' presents that we will reveal the Secret Santa and Angel.
Here are some pictures:

My Secret Santa has gave me a piece of cute poem with a little Zero handphone strip from The Nigtmare Before Christmas character. And another small note stated "Have a nice day!!". Then another day with a piece of short quote from Charlotte Carpenter. It was a great feeling when you received something from nowhere and dunno who is the person is.

Yesterday was the day to reveal the Secret Santa and exchanged presents. But then it was kinda busy day as not many people were around in the office as I was one of them. My Secret Santa gave me a kinky G-string panty written "naughty" with a small little monkey chain from La Senza. The A&P department also given away every each of us a goodies bag. And other editors gave each of us a small gift contains chocolates. It was my 1st year Xmas celebration in this company.

Later in the night, my colleague is hosting a Xmas party at her house with her mum's cooking. Will post some pictures. Merry Christmas!

Working with nice people

Today I got a whole day working at outside for shooting.

Yar, I need to involve in shooting; not holding a DSLR and click on the shutter as my company do have an in-house photographers but I need to assist/direct the photographer on what kind/mood to be in the picture. I went with the writer, makeup+hair stylist and the photographer.

We went to 2 places. We started in the morning at 9am in The Gardens, Midvalley for an advertorial shoot. Then in the afternoon we went for couple workout shoot at Jaya33. It was tiring but luckily we had enjoyed the whole day with someone fun to be with, May. She is very nice person who can joke with us. Thanks May!

Sudden

My company had an event last Friday at Asian Heritage Mansion as in "Thank You Party" for media advertisers, clients etc. I arrived after the shooting in The Weld. The dress code for the staff was white with a little touch of blue and I gotten nothing white clothes to wear accept I got to wear the same tops as I wore for Sau Hong's wedding luncheon with blue jeans.

The event was quite glamour with most advertisers who came and some celebritites. Nothing much to write about this as to me the event kind of boring because I doesn't know most of them, other than the makeup artistes that I had worked with. I also met Niki as he was invited and it been long time didn't get to see him. It was good to see a friend out of nowhere, someone that I'm familiar with. In the most of the pictures that I took were with my colleagues.
Let pictures speak for itself.

Last Saturday, I and Yvonne went for a movie, "I am Legend". It was a nice movie though something was similar like Resident Evil; the ugly creatures who got viruses...something like that, that I doesn't want to tell more. We spent 7-hour in Midvalley for hanging around. Took pictures with her. Nice.

About the "I AM FEELING DOWN" last Saturday, there nothing to do with during my outing with Yvonne. It happened out of sudden that I haven't seen for such a period.

Photo of the Day

Insane

Yesterday I went to have lunch with Yvonne@Mrs Kok at her workplace in MidValley. I was not working as it was Selangor's public holiday. I left my house at about nearly 1pm and it was jammed at the main road towards MidValley. The jammed was teribble but lucky me I could manage to take bus to meet my destination. I met up Yvonne and we had Korean foods. We were talking on everything including on her new job. Then we went to do our errands and she continued with her work and I went back home. It was raining quite heavy and I'd decided to take cab home. It was a long queue at the waiting and there was a man with his open arms around his head standing just behind me. I was so paranoid to see someone is so weird. I was preparing myself with holding the plastic bag tighly that contains catfoods and camera charger. If he ever do something weird to me, I will bang the plastic bag at him. But it never happen. I was relieved when I got into the cab. Pardon me for being sarcastic by doing that picture. Heeheee

Update, update...

I've forgotten to post pictures where I went for CEO's house for BBQ dinner at Jalan Kia Peng on 30 November 2007. My colleagues were quite close with CEO who we called her 'Puan'. She invited us, all the staff of the company who was the organizer for the company trip to Bali. It's her appreciation to say thank you to us by inviting us to her penthouse for BBQ. But only some of us went. We were served with grilled lambs and chickens, mamak mee goreng, salad, pizzas, wine and beers.

It was my first time to visit Puan's house which was huge and amazingly view of KL City. Nice. We chit-chatted while eating our dinner. Drinking wine at the living hall while enjoying the view and jazzy music while chatting. We left the place at midnight. Before we left, every each of us got a small gift of a little snow crystal ball as xmas gift from Puan. It was mesmerising to visit such a big nice huge house. Heeheee

The next update is my shopping day with 2-collegemate; Castina and Siki. We met up at MidValley right after from my workplace. We had lunch then walked at The Gardens, MidValley. We walked hours and ended up we went for break at Haagen Daaz. I used up all my RM60 cash vouchers for their promotion choco fondue. Yummy...just paid extra RM13 for that choco fondue. Heehee...nice to use some cash vouchers.

Then later that SengYoong came to fetch us for yam char session cum giving
out his wedding invitation cards to us and others too.

Yah, another friend is getting married and I have another wedding luncheon to attend, again. This time will be at Shah Alam. This year mainly I have attended alot of wedding dinner/luncheon.

Til then...will upload another part of my Bali trip. :)

This year is ending...soon

I am particularly busy with work. I got no time to update my blog, not like last time. Just not because of this, I do have another reason is that my PC IS DAMN SLOW!!! Someone need to fix it for me, FREE! Anyone???

Here I would like to wish some people on their belated birthday:
To my beloved cousin-sis who lives over the sea, Minna.
To my best friend who seldom see him, Jeffery.

Anyway, back to the "The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 cups of Coffee" question. So far I got ONE visitor has answered it.
ken: Firstly, sand, Pebbles, Golf balls, lastly, two cups of coffee

To answer of what is the meaning of your own arrangement, let's read some intro about "The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 cups of Coffee"

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, Family, Children, Health, Friends, and Favorite Passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your Job, House, and Car.

The sand is everything else --the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are Important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Please share this with someone you care about.

So to Ken, your priorities was all the small stuff then your job, car then God, family, health, favourite passions. You need to pay more attention to your 'Golf Balls first then lastly the sand. But you're always be there for friends for yam char or yam seng. Heeheeee

Okays, back to my blog's update.
Here I would like to announce that I AM PROUD TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN though it took such a long time to be one. I'VE GOT 'Buku Merah'! It means I'm a blood donor! Here is the picture.

It was my first time to donate my bloody blood which I had kept it to myself ALL THESE YEARS. I was so scared to see the thick needle into the vain where the freshy blood out from the body into a 'bag'. I wasn't sure what was the process but I could roughly know something. I took the courage to donate as my company was organizing in our premise.

It was from Pusat Darah Negara came into our office at 10am til 4pm. I had prepared myself to have enough breakfast, being calm, waiting for the time to go along with other colleagues, and here was it.

The process were these:
- Need to fill up a form and a card to ensure that we are free from the diseases, medication etc together with our info
- Get blood sample from your middle fingertip with disposal small needle which is no pain.
- Test the blood at the chart board to ensure what blood type and also to check our hemoglobin rate that capable to donate.
- Weigh to ensure we are enough heavy to meet their requirement, more than 45kg.
- Check our blood pressure and the doc will ask some question like whether got enough 8-hour sleep, coffee intake, sexual activity etc
- Register into Blood Bank data by getting our "Buku Merah" (for 1st-time like me) or updating your book
- Get prepare lying on the bed with all the documents.
- Nurse will find the vain to poke the needle to get your blood.

That's it.

I was so dramatized at the beginning when lied on the bed. I got nearly cried but didn't cry. Thank goodness I was lying next to Yi Hwa (my colleague) being supportive for not being afraid. She asked me not to look when the nurse doing her job to poke the needle. FYI, I need to donate 450ml of my blood. I screamed when I found out the pain but that was a very short one. My blood flowed very fast down to the 450ml bag while I need to squeeze my hand with the plastic pipe. I could feel the flowing blood from my body through the vain, like bubble-feel.

After finished filling up the 'bag', I saw the nurse took out the needle from my vain and it didn't feel any pain, at all. Still lying on the bed for about 10mins (I guess) then only can stand on the ground. Luckily I don't feel any dizzy or something but was given a cup of Milo, a pack of Lychee drink, 2-packet supplement pills, a bread and a pack of fruit biscuits. There you go, after you donate your blood you will get all these foods!

It was a good experience for donating my precious blood. Heeheee

Back to Bali trip's pictures...continued:

After the volcano climb...next, what we do?? To be continued, again. Heeheee

Another pictures continued from Sau Hong's wedding luncheon on 25th November 2007:

Last Thursday, my colleague got an invite for a fine dining at new chinese restaurant at Bangsar Village, ReUnion. She asked me to come along as the PR company asking whether she is going with a partner. Here I am, the lucky one. I didn't take many pictures as I didn't bring my camera (since I got snatched, I dare not to bring camera in my bag). Instead I'd only took 3 pictures with my camera-phone. The ambience was contemporary yet tradition with the mixtured of 'yin & yang' concept. The dishes was great and 'fine'. I didn't know fine dining is a small portion of food served in a plate, very SMALL in quantity. Overall, the place is cosy; the foods were fresh but much with MSG (salty); services above moderate but a little lack of table manners; prices...I have no idea. :) But need to thanks for the PR company for inviting us.
