Personality Idol; Pageant Show

Note: Irene's friend is called LB, not LV. :)

I was excited to have a job at PJ which I wished to work for. I got it! Hopefully I will show my ethic of working there that they will confirm my employment.

I started my first day at work was on Wednesday. It was a nice place to work with although at the beginning there nothing much for me to work on. The design team was nice. There no any pictures taken but there was a spotted place where its good to take good picture with strong orange color wall. I would take some with my colleagues one day.

After first day at work, I got invited from Irene to attend the Rush Personality Idol to support her friend, LV. It was some sort like pageants cum fashion show. We reached at Rush Bar & Club as VIP which no cover charge but got to buy our own drinks.

We waited until the show started at nearly midnight. I was prepared to take some photos of the show but ended up battery was out in the middle of the show. Wasted. Here are the few of the photos;

Too bad LV didn’t win anything but the consolation prize. But I could see he was not disappointed and he’d enjoyed through the whole show.

Was A Temporarily Designer

I am glad to work and experience or trained for working in a high-end society lifestyle publishing company at KL Central. I had worked for them for only 4 days. It was great to get involved in a different line of publishing. Therefore it was good to back to Mac platform.

My boss; Creative Director was kind enough for letting me to join their company as temporarily and he’d even offer me the job. I was hesitated because I was waiting for my offer letter from other company. Other staff in Production/Design department were nice though there nothing much to share.

On Tuesday was my last day when I got the offer lettering which effectively the next day on work. It was sad though but they’re still happy for me to have a job that I wanted. I took the chance to take a photo with them to put it here. Here are they:

I would like to thanks you all for giving me the chance and offer!

After I left the office, I went to meet up with my ex-colleagues. Supposingly to meet Yling with Melanie for sorting out the stuff we bought from Yling's friend. We met at Wong Kok Restaurant at PJ for dinner. Then we called up the others to join us and ended up with this big gathering.

We talked about our job hunting; where do we work; how is the life and so on. It was a great gathering after we were departed from the company. Get to know what we were doing or what job we've been hunting.

Indeed we had a great time with meals. :)

Wedding dinner at Klang

I went with Riza to Jeffery’s brother wedding dinner on Monday, 11th December 2006 which was a public holiday for Selangor state. I was working temporarily at KL Central, from after work I was rushing put on my make-up in the loo then meet up Riza at LRT station.

Jeffery invited me, Ken, Riza and Vinod but only I and Riza could attend. The wedding held at the Chinese Restaurant in Klang Executive Club. We were seated along with Jeffery’s best buddies on one table which was nearby the entrance. So 5 of us were sitting on 10-seats table.

When the foods were served, most of us couldn’t finish the dishes. Overall they served 9 different dishes which not bad at all. The services were poorly.

I was quite bored during the dinner because there were no girls. I was sitting with the guys and most of them guys’ talk. But I got to thank to Riza for fetching me go and fro.

Anyway, Congratulations to Jason & his newly-wedded wife, Keleen.

Mall in Deco

Last Saturday I was at home facing in front of tv after woke up in the late afternoon. I was supposing to attend colleague’s brother church wedding at Klang but I do not have transport.

In the evening, my ex-collegemate called me up for a movie along with his friend. We went to Mid Valley to see a random movie. Once we reached there, the queue wasn’t long but we couldn’t decide what to watch. End up having tea time and chit-chat at a restaurant. We chatted about an hour then we walked around the mall. The mall was decorated with a theme of ‘Sweet Christmas’. I didn’t take many photos.

Hmm…maybe next time I visit the mall, I will take some shoots of the deco.
“Anyway, nice meeting you, Jay. (If I spell your name correctly)” ;P

Warmth

Photo of the day; taken last Friday. It was raining that night. My cat, Cum-Mon followed me to my room while I was surfing net. At first he was lying on the floor on the rug. Cuddled himself and sleep. A few minutes he got up and meowed at me. I was wondering what he wants. He stared at my lap and I know he wants to sit ontop. I pat on my lap and he climbed on my lap and sleep. I was then busy typing and mouse-over on the screen while he comfortably sleep on my lap.

Imagine 6kg fat cat sleeping on my lap. My legs were numb after about 10minutes. :)

Last day at work for lunch

Last day at work on 30th November 2006 was nothing particular but I went to have last day for lunch with my bunch of colleagues at Bangsar Village. We decided to have at Fish & Co Restaurant. That time not many people were having their lunch and we bunch of people, 7 of us went in. The waiter took our orders. Our orders were simple as most of us called set lunch each that cost RM19.90++. 6 set lunch and one ala carte meal. The set lunch included a soup of the day, main course, a drink and a dessert.

After we had ordered, we waited for our drinks and soup for almost half an hour. The service there was slow. We were looking around the place wondering why they took it so long to serve the drinks. There were not many customers to be served. Therefore what we had ordered was the set lunch which the drinks and soups that had been done earlier.

Even though when we got our drinks and soups, there were incomplete. We waited for few minutes and in the end, they missed out one soup to be served. They even served the soup not warm/hot. Terrible. We were very unsatisfied and hungry.

Overall, the foods were not hot as we expected. The service was suck. Incomplete orders. (Those below picture were taken by my handphone, Motorola E1070.)

The Younger, Me!

I read an article featured in FEMALE Malaysia Edition in December Issue about writing your own letter/note to your younger selves. It’s a very idea to write to yourselves in the past. Something past that you’ve been through that doesn’t want to happen again in the future. The article presented in a very simple layout with 3 celebrities’ pictures and their letters of wisdom.

Thought of that, I want to write one for myself to me in the past 20 years.

Dear Younger Self,
Though you have not a good life but be happy and love of who you are. There’s not much attention and love for you all the time so you need to be yourself. There are potential opportunities ahead you that you need to be brave to grab them. Be dare and confident. Once you take it, there are bright chances in the future.

Never lose of your friends if there anything might break them apart. Friends are important in your life. They’re part in the role. Make a lot of difference. Love your family though has been apart for long. They are the closest members to you.

Try to save some money; don’t spend on those unimportant which is not necessarily. Once you got some money, invest in your knowledge and for the future. Don’t be so naive in a relationship, ask for guidance. Believe in what you can do and don’t be so lazy. Be hardworking and take good care of your skin. Be aware of your sensitive skin. Be careful whenever you walk alone. Don’t walk alone in the pathway. There no such short-cut walks can save the times rather the unhappy experience.

Try to be open and friendly to people around you. Your annoying and sarcastic are part of you that attract some people but don’t get overboard. Be humble and be yourself.

Be grateful of the chances you will get. Take them, don’t leave them alone. Be cheerful as always like they used to say ‘happy-go-lucky’ person you are.

Live to the fullness and don’t always stay at home. Be out there and experience the outside world. Not to mention, take good care of yourselves.

Lovely,
meiLeng

p/s: Try to save more money to travel overseas as you always wanted to.

Why not try it for yourselves? Write a letter of wisdom for the younger self? :)

Experience as Lone Ranger

No photos to show here as I had went out with my friends on last weekends. On Saturday, went out with my ex-colleague to Mid Valley to hang out. Then my other colleague and his girlfriend came to fetch me to Jalan Alor to have frogs-porridge. I called another friend to come along. After that we went to Matrix which was nearby my office to play pool. There I called another colleague to join us. 5 of us played the pool until 1am. We had our supper at the Lotus mamak then we headed home.

I always wanted to watch ‘Happy Feet’ since I’d watched in Apple Preview Trailer months ago. I’d persuaded and make the date with my friends to watch with but there’s none. Most of them find the movie a bit childish or ‘Bollywood’ style kind of. They’d found its so cartoonist. I have no one to watch with. So, I’d made the date for myself, alone.

After I got home from that night, I had booked a ticket online to watch the movie. The next day, I’d planned to watch movie in early show then later go to gym. I went to the hall sharp 11.45am with packed of people and kids. I’d choose the seat at the middle which was left one. I was sitting next to a kid and an adult. I was cool then with my popcorn and water that I’d bought. The show started at about noon. I was so concentrated with show until I got touched with the storyline. Some part of the scene was really scared some kids off. They shouted and cried it out when this sea-lion tried to eat the penguin. Poor the parents got to carry them away from the movie. Overall, the movie is great with the moral of the story. It was worth to watch.

After the movie which was finished at about nearly 2.00pm (I guess), I hanged out around the mall to look for a cheap slack pant. Then I went to Jusco Supermarket to buy some salmon sushi to eat for my lunch. I sat at one of the benches that available at the market. Then I headed home. I didn’t go to gym. I was tired and sleepy.

But it was a rare experience to watch a movie alone.

Rendezvous

One of my college mates of Foundation Year whom I’m never meet for so long for about 6 years, she has came down to KL for a short trip. She is from Johor and she had has a Degree in Architect in UK. She has been unemployed for about ½ year, I guess. She has tried to look for a job in KL but there’s no opportunity. Her name is Castina.

She came down to KL on Monday afternoon. We were met at 1Utama for walks and chit-chat along with her friend, Evelyn. She told me that the next day to have a dinner together with her friends and some of our college mates.

We had at Rendezvous Steak House, Cheras. It was my first time to have dinner at such place and I had the dipping meat with pot of cheese sauce called Fish Funde in Cheese. Yummies though the meats were oily fried. Had escargots, nice but lack of cheesy taste which the sauce exactly the same with the one I had. And most to others, they had the steak.

After we had finished our dinner, we had chit-chat until 9.00pm something. Here are pictures with my college mates.

I think I got the sun-tanned pretty dark. :

Kids Klick Goes Hunting!

This is my 2nd involvement in Kids Klick project after the Kids Klick outing at Putrajaya Mosque in April 2006.

18th November 2006: An exciting Kids Klick Project held at the Tugu Negara and the Orchid and Hibiscus Gardens in Taman Tasik Negara (Lake Garden), Kuala Lumpur from 9.00am to 2.00pm. The project was called “Kids Klick Goes Hunting!” with 40 orphans from Jabatan Kebajikan Masyrakat for photo hunting.

Canon was the main contributor to loan 30 of Digi-Cams for the kids. There were also some contributors, sponsors, volunteers, PM’ers (PhotoMalaysia.com members) and guardians involved to a successful and enjoyable project with the kids.

I’d invited friends to participate this project but only Ken and Irene could come. This project was their first time to get up-close and personal with the orphans while photographing. It was their good experiences to learn photography with the kids.

It was very sunny bright day that it’s perfect to shoot. The PM’ers assembled at the Tugu Negara to get some briefing on the agenda. The kids arrived at about 9.30am and each guardians (PM’ers/volunteers) was assigned with one kid for the entire event. My kid was Hadi who is 12 years old boy. We then divided into 4 groups. My team was in Group B. All of us headed to Tugu Negara to start the photo hunting.

After an hour shoot at Tugu Negara, we headed back and assembled with the kids. The kids were treated with ice-creams; thanks to the kind-heart sponsors.

Then we walked all the way to Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens. From here, we were given an hour to shoot around the gardens.

And here are my attempt shoots:

An hour later at the gardens, we gathered around and walked to the Lake Garden to have our picnic lunch with McD. Most of us were enjoying of taking photographs especially the kids. They managed to explore and shoot whatever they felt like it when given the list of topics in guidance.

Picnic at the Lake Garden was not as good as we thought because it was raining when the foods arrived. Thanks to the PM’ers carried the foods from the McD restaurant out from place. The kids were happy to have their own Happy Meal.

After finished with our lunch and the rain has stopped, we had our large group photos as remembrances.

Then we headed to the nearest shelter to given away the souvenirs to the kids as our appreciation by Maxby; co-founder of PhotoMalaysia.com

At sharp 2.00pm, the kids left and event adjourned. Everyone was happy and smiling and satisfied with the outcome although the weather was pretty hot-burnt. It was a great time to have the charity spirit around. Shall look forward on Kids Klick’s next project next year!

Night Out at KLCC - Photo Session

Last Friday, a friend, Irene has called me out for hanging out at The Loft, Zouk. Three of us (gals) went to the place. Its interior is filled with graffiti of the latest graphic design trends while chilling out with some indie rock musics. But then we were hanged there a while cause there nothing much to do other than listening to music and drink beers. We’d decided not to consume any alcohol so we left the place for about few minutes later.

We had walked all the way from Zouk to KLCC and we took a lot of photos.

We also went into Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS.

Later we went out to go back and took some photos at the entrance of the KLCC’s carpark tunnel.

Then we went to Sri Hartamas to have supper that we hanged there almost at 3.00am. Therefore the next day Irene and I need to attend the KidsKlick event at the Tugu Negara at 8.30am.

Last Weekends

Last Saturday, I went for clubbing with a bunch of gals. We went to Zouk. It has been so long that I didn’t go for clubbing since 2 years ago on my birthday. We went to Velvet Underground as the gals like the music mode there. It played most of the R&B trances that really groove to dance. I was so long never dance, but I got the mood to follow the beats until my back aching. We also went to Zouk Mainroom to check out the Gate Crasher performance. It was fantastic trances but it was too loud of the music system until I’m nearly deaf. We’ve been dancing all night long since from 11something til 3am.

After we had finished with our clubbing nite out, we went to have breakfast, tim sum. We were chatting for hours while eating some tim-sum. We’d hanged the place until 6am then we headed home.

It was a tired day nite with my body aching. It was nice to meet new bunch of friends. Once I reached home, I didn’t get much sleep as I got to accompany my ex-colleague to someplace at 8something.

Before I leave my house, my naughty cat, Cun-Mon did some stunt.

Yar, he climbed up and started meowing around. I didn’t bother him but I took the photos of his stunt. He is such a naughty cat. He is a fat cat still can climb up near the ceiling.

My ex-colleague, my mun and I went to Brickfields to do something. We were had our breakfast; ya again I have my 2nd breakfast. After the breakfast, I called up my friend to wake her up. She suggested having photography outing at KTM Kuala Lumpur. So she asked me to call her up. I’d called her at 11.00am. My ex-colleague was so kind to fetch her then dropped us at the KTM. Thanks, man.

We both gals were hanging around the station. We’s captured a lot of photos. She was just a beginner and she want to learn more on using the SLR camera while I use Digi-cam that I could borrow. The Panasonic Lumix LX-2 featured it widescreen view at 16:9 and with 4:3 and 3:2 being cropped at the sides. Most of the pictures were taken with a panoramic view. Here are some photos taken by me

Here are the photos taken by my friend:

After we hanged out and took some photographs, out of plan, we decided to go to watch a movie at Times Square. We walked around the KL to take a bus to the place. Once we reached at the mall, we bought the tickets for the late afternoon show on The Prestige. While waiting for the movie before it shows; we hanged out at the Borders bookstore to get a rest feet after the long walks. Silly we took some photographs there.

After the movie, we took a bus to KL town and we were hanging around the Petaling Street then headed home. It was tiring outing though we both didn’t have enough sleep from the clubbing and tim sum for breakfast previous day.
