A New Gym in Bangsar

On 16 March, I went along with my Editor and a writer to attend the Grand Launching of Celebrity Fitness at Bangsar Village II Mall. They invited a lot of celebrities as their guest right after the press conference. I’d managed to take some of the artistes but the event turned from a gym into a club house. We weren’t hanging in there for long as we were tired. We left early at about 10pm.

And here are some shots:

To the Cretin who did this to me

Spontanenously. Quick in act. Unware. Blindly. Got into.

Was too late. Go freely. Might have next victims.

Damn him. Unmoral. Dolt. Curse him for no of his next generation. Burnt in hell. Strike by lightning. Get served punishments by god on what did to me.

Angry. Pathetic. Not safe. Unsecure. Vulnerable.

I'm really hate this kind of incident had happened to me, again. I felt this world seem so small and not safe to be alone. This country isn't safe anymore.

Am I look like an endangered species? Am I susceptible to get the attack?

I've been vulnerable since when I was born and brought up til now. I was trying to be tough on every consequences. I don't know how long I could hang on to.

Every incident made a person grow to be tougher/confidence to learn from it. But how long does it take. There's always a limitation to hang on, just matter of time when it will collapse.

Sigh.

For the ladies/gals out there, becareful. Trust me, you wouldn't want to what I had experienced, its paranoid. Becareful when you walk alone at this place.

Chinese New Year 2007

What did you do for your Chinese New Year?

For me, either having the holidays to go somewhere or stay at home. I was just stayed at home most of the times.
As usual, on Chinese New Year's eve and first day, my family and relatives will be having the re-union dinner together.

This year on the eve itself, Minna's mum; the family had a re-union with my family and grandma at Royal China Restaurant. That restaurant was packed like hell with people until their services were sickening. Some of the customers waited for their second dishes for an hour or even more than that. They'd ordered the package meal that the restaurant offered which come with ther set of the dinner. The customers complaint to the waiters and waitresses or even to the supervisors but there nothing in return. Ended up they just left the table without paying any. The services was sucked and slow which we got to pour own drink-tea ourselves. But lucky enough that most of our foods came all and we had a proper slow dinner that time.

And here are the 2 photos. I didn't take any foods picture.

On first day of Chinese New Year, we had another re-union dinner with my uncles, my family and grandma. This time we went to Janet's workplace, the restaurant in the club house. There were 6 families came for the dinner which we had 2 tables for the re-union, which mean got 23 people. We were in a private room for the dinner which accommodate with karaoke system. While we were eating, some of them were singing. I got the chance to sing one song that kept playing in my head, 'Moon River'. I was singing solo while my mum was impressed that I could sing. But then my singing was soft and not entertaining. I'd enjoyed singing then. Beforehand, I drank abit of red wine, then my adrenalin was rushing cause I was nervous when was my turn to sing and my face turned red even more. :)

Again just with 2 photos and no foods picture:

Collection of ang pows are same on every each year with the same quantity and same values from the same people; relatives. But I got some ang pows from my new workplace although I was just working there for more than a month. This year, I didn't do many house visiting but only at one house of my schoolmate. After all, I was loitering around in the house with watching tv and sleeping.

On 9th day of Chinese New Year is to pray the Jade Emperor of Heaven (Tian Kong) for Hokkiens people. My family was part of Hokkiens and we did our prayers by offering and did some customary protocol for paying respect to the Emperor of Heaven in the midnight.

And now back to working life...

Moon River

Whenever I have nothing in my mind, sometimes this song will playing in my thoughts. I've only know how to sing the first two words and just sing the tune. I love this song cause it gives me some ease.

Moon river
Wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style
Some day...

Old dream maker
You heart breaker
Wherever you're going
I'm going your way...

Two drifters
Off to see the world
There's such a lot of world
To see...

We're after the same rainbow's end
Waiting around the bend
My Huckleberry friend
Moon River and me...

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone

I felt like a normal day. Nothing much particular but happy to see most of my colleagues received their gifts and flowers by their loved one. I wasn't miss that too. Thanks to the gal-colleague who gave each of everyone a chocolate or even those receivers share their chocolates/candy.

Some of us who were 'single' just celebrate with close friends and families.

HP Inter-Action Live in Transmission Party!

I got a private invitation from HP of their new launching ultra cool HP Pavilion tx1000 notebook with a concept of Inter-Action Live in Transmission! 5 parties – 5 cities – 5 world class artistes all in 1 night.

HP presents Inter-Action live in transmission by broadcasting Too Phat (Malaysia), Hifana (Taiwan), DJ Kentaro (Singapore), Qiu Hong (Hong Kong) and Dynamic Duo (Korea).

It sounded cool and I was excited to check out the place where it held at Maison, Jalan Yap Shak. The party were given free flow alcohols. I’ve never been to that area that even curios to check it out. Irene, herself did receive the private invitation and we were planned to go for it.

Firstly got to thanks to Irene’s friends who fetching us. Althought it wasn’t enjoyable nite for them as they were not given the media passes but they were enjoying checking out the girls. Heehee

Thanks to Mel for helping us to get the media passes that I and Irene got to get upstairs with the celebrities. I managed to get up close with some of the celebrities like taking pictures with them for my updating blog or even for my memories.

HP’s Inter-Action party was great with the audio visual innovation by interacting via satellite transmission from Asia, DJ Kentaro, Dynamic Duo, Hifana and Too Phat to the next level with non-stop aural and visual exchange of musical energies and a human computing experience like no other.

Live and direct transmission begins at 9pm sharp with:
• DJ Kentaro live in Singapore
• Hifana live in Taiwan at Club Luxy
• Too Phat live in Malaysia at Maison - Malique aka Que_Chill & Joe Flizzow aka JFK
• Qiu Hong live in Hong Kong at Edge
• Dynamic Duo live in Korea at Catchlight

Too Phat was rock! The music was good. I and Irene were at the front row near the stage that was broadcasting live to other countries. I am famous! Heeheee

VJ Joey G was the MC for the nite and here are the pictures with celebrities!!!!!!!!!!!!

My new colleagues and ex-colleagues were there too. They were invited with media invitation. Really got to thanks to Mel and Irene's friends for fetching us. I hope they were enjoying themselves.

It was a good party. Memorable ones.

Gala Nite

I was so stress out at work for the past few weeks ago that I was working on my company’s gala nite which is a big event of the year. I was given the job to do the invitation card design, the event stage, the photo wall of fame, registration area with the same theme of gala nite.

The colour theme was purple and our staff’s dress code was in black cocktail/lounge wears. Our company has invited a lot of guests including VVIP from Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development, celebrities, high society people and the clients.

Our magazine organized this big event to give an award for the title of ‘Woman of the Year’ and ‘Young Woman Achiever’.

It held at Hotel Hilton Kuala Lumpur on 5th February 2007. The event turned out glamorous with the props, stage, table arrangements, flower arrangements, candles etc. We even invited the press media from NTV7 to have the cover of that event. We even invited Jacklyn Victor to perform as well as the LiT Performers. Our host of the nite was Bernie Chan. All of them were marvellous.

I won’t reveal much of the event but I’m going to post some of the pictures of me and my new colleagues. We were given glamorous touches from make-up artists and hair-stylists to look good as we need to usher the guests.

And here I am with a new ‘make-over’.

Some of my new colleagues:

Ex-CHIPsians Gathering - Dinner

I was given a project; to plan/organize a gathering dinner with my ex-colleagues. They asked me to be the organizer for this first outing. So I did. I'd emailed most of my colleagues about the gathering dinner, asked them where to eat which most convenient to all of us. Set the date and time. Once confirmed/agreed with the venue, I'd proceeded with the reservation.

And here were we. We were at Souled Out, Sri Hartmas on 3rd February, Saturday. Though I was expecting most of them come but it turned out was mesmerizing. Jue Fok who is currently working in Singapore came all the way. Long time Gary has been leaving the company also came with his wife. It was a fun nite, everyone enjoying their dinner. Get to updating with our different worklife.

Looking forward for next one. :)

1st February 2007 - Thaipusam

Those pictures were taken by using my Motorola E1070.

1st February was public holiday for Federal Territory of Wilayah Persekutuan and Thaipusam. Irene has called me to pay a visit at Batu Caves to see the celebration which she hasn’t experience and so am I. She wanted to take some photographs with my FM2 camera with a high ISO that she bought. So I was happy to go with her in the midnight after had difficulty in transportation.

We reached at the nearby roadside of the Batu Caves at about 2am++. There were a lot of people crowded the roads as well with the jammed. We were hanged out around for 4hours on the road that we weren’t had the chance to go into the Batu Caves’ entrance compound. It was terrible sandwiched with people which stucked the way of the entrance. We couldn’t enter but walked back to the river bank to see those devotees cleanse and get pierced by carrying various types of kavadi (burdens) with vel skewers. The most spectacular practice is the vel kavadi, essentially a portable altar up to two meters tall, decorated with peacock feathers and attached to the devotee through 108 vels pierced into the skin on the chest and back.

Anyhow, I didn’t bring the Digi-camera along as I was lazy to bring and no intention to take pictures that time. I was thinking of looking around but I took some photos with my camera-phone.

After we got tired and had enough of watching and photographing, we went to mamak nearby which opened 24hrs for a rest. The celebration wasn’t end till the next day. People still was coming in for praying.

Later on, I wanted to have light tim-sum at KL. We went to have our early breakfast for tim-sum. Chit-chat then spontaneously we think of places to go. Irene shows me where is the “Eye of Malaysia’ which is situated at Titiwangsa. It was a huge ferries wheel in the centre of the park. It was huge. Then we headed to KL Tower as we both haven’t visit the place. It opened at 9am. We reached there at about 8am++ and we were hanging around the area to take some photos. At sharp 9am, we bought our tickets at the counter and went up to the Observation Tower. We spent an hour sight-seeing around and took photos.

After that we headed to Maju Junction for a little shopping. At 1 something in the afternoon, we headed home. Nearly 12 hours that we didn’t sleep. It was a good experience though it tiring but it was fun!

The Holiday - Movie

Yesterday I got a pair of free tickets to watch the preview screening of "The Holiday". I always wanted to watch this movie since I'd watched the trailer. Finally. Its a romance comedy.

The movie is about Amanda (Cameron Diaz) of Los Angeles, CA and Iris (Kate Winslet) of Surrey, England live five thousand miles apart and have never met, but are dealing with the same problem: men. Amanda having just broken up with her cheating boyfriend, Ethan and Iris having pined for her ex, Jasper, who becoming engaged to the woman he left her for decide to take a vacation during Christmas. Amanda comes upon a website called home exchange and she wants to stay in Iris's cottage. Iris got an idea to swap houses for two weeks that both agreed with a goal to forget their troubled love lives. But love ends up finding them anyways. Amanda starts a romance with Iris' older brother, Graham (Jude Law), and Iris starts a romance with Miles (Jack Black). With new found romance, both their lives change forever.

This movie was really good and meaningful enough to understand more about love, not only in a relationship but to friendship and the bond between human beings. The plot was a little slow but not slow enough to loose your interest. Jude Law's character added a different dimension to his character and it made you love him more in the movie. Jack Black's character was sweet, not corny... he was not a goof like he usually is in his movies but sense a little touch in the movie that likeable as in Iris's character. Overall, I love most of the quotes from the movie. Here are the some of it:
Iris: I've found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said "Journeys end in lovers meeting." What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said "love is blind". Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space!

Graham: Long distance relationships can work, you know.
Amanda: Really? I can't make one work when I live in the same house with someone.

Iris: ....I don't know the exact quote, but I know that there's no such 'cheating' in a relationship.

Amanda: [In the car with Graham] Sex makes everything more complicated. Even not having it because the not having it makes it complicated.

Anna Oh's Wedding - Dinner - Continued

Wedding one another weddings. Phew~ This year alot of my school-classmates getting married. Not only them but to the others of my friends too.

Nothing much to say about Anna's wedding nite but very grand ambience. The hosts were bored, the foods were good, her bridal photos are beautifully shots. I like her bridal album especially on the entrance. Very different and good feels too. And Anna was looked amazing and charming bride. :)

Anna Oh's Wedding - Dinner

I’d attended Anna’s wedding dinner at Sunway Resort Hotel last Saturday. Get dress. Put on makeup. It was heavy rain.

Anyway, will be continued with more photos. :)

Strike with Viruses

Last Saturday, my PC got strike with viruses. Thanks to myself for not being careful with it. I was damn panic when I was trying to backup my files which can't. I'd called my friends and even smsed them for help. They all talked IT language which I was damn blur case, 0 knowledge, continue panic and cried for help.

Luckily my cousin-bro, Darren was around. I asked him for help, he came, he re-install the Windows for saving my backup files, re-format the whole PC...now is brand 'new' PC.

Thanks Darren. You're my saviour. :)

Steammingboats

11 January 2007
Went to Joanne’s bf house at OUG for steamboat. She is leaving to UK for her further studies, something related to laws. Anyway, the house was nice and pleasant with 4-storey.

I, Jenny, ChooiLin, LiangSer and Phoebe came for the dinner. All were gals. It was a delicious soup with lotsa foods. A comfy conversation while steaming the foods in the pot. We were all missed most our life in history during school. It’s good to have a gathering with the school-classmates for once a month or so.

Bon voyage and have a safe journey. Wish Joanne all the best and hope to see her come back to KL.

12 January 2007
Then I have another steamboat for dinner but this time with my cousins. I was home early after work. I was sleeping then. This Darren, cousin-bro came to my house, visiting grandma. He called me and asked me whereabout. I was in my room taking nap. He’ve been so long never see me since he traveled for work so I suggested to go out to have dinner with other cousins.

Huat, me and him went to Sri Petaling had a porridge steamboat which I’ve never eat before. It was tasty with the fine porridge to steam most of the raw foods into it. Then it likes a junk porridge with vegetables, meat, fish/meatballs and others. It was totally different from normal steamboat. Oh, well. This is my first time eating porridge steamboat.

I got new 'Mouse'

Got a Christmas present from George. He bought it from Japan as the packaging of the box and the warranty card were written in Japanese language. It was small and compact. I always want to change my 'mouse' and finally I have one with scroll bar. Cool. Thanks George for a lovely gift. ;)

Wedding dinner in early January 2007

Last Saturday I attended another wedding for the New Year. It was my school-classmate, Melina. I was so close to her during when she came to join our school since Form 4. But I was being crazy with her. I used to tease her and make her laugh. Now she is married now and here are the photos. It held at Eastin Hotel, Petaling Jaya. I went with Agnes and her husband.

The whole concept of her wedding was nice. Every guest who came for the wedding was given a Polaroid shot for her Guestbook with their wishes and signature. There was cocktail refreshment at the reception that served with red wine and orange juice. During the wedding dinner itself, they have their own few projection shows of their wedding photos in KL and Bali too. I love their Bali wedding style shoots. It was relaxing feel and enjoyable. Anyway, here are the photos:

Congratulations to Melina and her husband again! :)

After Singapore Trip, what did I do???

More pictures here. Just cut the crap of my post, I just summarize them as I could but definitely the pictures are more interesting than my words.

26 December 2006
Went to Midvalley to watch midnite movie. We watched ‘ The Haunted Apartments’. It’s a Japanese horror movie. The storyline was a bit decelerated with not much effect but it was out of expectation for the whole movie was about.

30 December 2006
Attended Gary’s wedding. Gary was my ex-colleague year ago. He was with his wife (now) for about 10years (I guess). They were such a lovely couple. George is his only little brother who was emcee that night. It was a great night with the some funny slide show and speeches from George himself.

Congratulations to Gary and Jessica!

31 December 2006
New Year Eve we; I and Irene went to Midvalley. We were just ‘lepak-ing’ in the mall while shopping together. It was great to shop around with someone along. We had lunch at Dome CafĂ©. They have their new menu with the same dishes’ name for New Year. We didn’t like their new menu especially their ‘Wild Mushroom Soup’. I prefer their last time really ‘wild’ mushroom soup. Every dish seems totally different taste and flavors. Then their services were suck like shit. They were so slow to get the hot water to be refilled in our hot tea. It took ages. Later that lunch, we had for ice-cream craving. Baskin Robbins has their on every 31st of the month got 31% off on every ice-cream. We bought handpack pint of ice-cream with 2 choices of flavour. Originally it costs RM21.50 + 5% GST, after discounted at RM15.57.
We spent the day from noon til the shops closed. We had played pool. Then we had a midnight movie on 'The Cadaver', a Thai horror movie with KJin. I didn't like the ending as it seems not compromising. After the movie, we went to mamak for 'yam char'. That was the new year celebration in the cinema.

1 January 2007
New Year day was having a buffet lunch at Traders Hotel. It was an enjoyable lunch with comfy interior and environment. Though there were not much variety of foods were served, most of the seafoods were not so fresh but at least we had a good day to hang out. They have nice spot for picture intake. We took some pictures.

2 January 2007
It was randomly planned to have a small little gathering with my ex-colleagues. I’d called them out the day before about meeting up for lunch. It was CHIPsians’ Lunch gathering. It was supposingly at about 9 people should have come but instead 6 of us. It held at one of the shop at Taman Desa. I’d also called Irene to join us. We spent almost 4hours eating and sitting and chit-chatting. It’s good to have mini re-union on holiday.
